Quirky fiction that's pretty, witty, and gritty.

I caught half an episode of HUSTLE the other day. It appears to have been running a while.
Anybody recommend it?

I've been editing my latest manuscript for a while now, and earlier this week, I sent my second "mainstream" novel off to my agent. It's 92,000 words (including the table of contents, which is probably the best part).

My big learning, thanks to my betas, is that I write a fairly clean first draft, then *edit in* a whole whack of problems, along with a lot of good stuff. I tend to repeat myself and use redundant phrasing. I don't trust my reader and try to be Very Clear about things.

So it was up to 97k, then back down to 92k. I just hope they like it.

And in other news, Canada Geese! They're all pairing off this time of year. I tried to snap a shot of them flying--it's hard to make a "V" when there's only two of you. ;-D
